Wah, Wah, Wah.....
George Romney worked hard for his family. Most parents want to work hard so that their kids have a better life. George Romeny did the responsible thing. He worked hard to give his kids a better life. Yes, Mitt was given advantages that others didn't have, but he didn't squander them either. Mitt Romney worked hard to give his family a better life. There is nothing wrong with that philosophy.
Barack Obama's father abandoned the family to leave Barack to be raised by a single mother, who then abandoned him to be raised by her parents. Perhaps, she did so to give him a better life. If that is the case, then she did the responsible thing.
Barack has obtained the pinnacle of a better life for his family. He has, indeed, given his daughters a "leg up" in society. Twenty years for now what will he say when someone accusses his daughters of being raised with "silver spoons in their mouths". If George Romney gave his children silver spoons, then so did Barack Obama and Michele Obama.
Barack Obama is spewing class warfare rhethoric when he says things like "not raised with a silver spoon in his mouth" and "Michele didn't have the luxury to stay home with their daughters". Did you know that "in 2005, when Obama began serving in the U.S. Senate (and his daughters turned 4 and 7), he and his wife were earning a combined annual income of $479,062. Barack Obama was paid a salary of $162,100 by the U.S. taxpayers, and Michelle Obama was paid $316,962 to handle community affairs for the University of Chicago Medical Center." So, yes indeed he is spewing class warfare.

on 4/18/12 at 9:55pm (3 likes)"Somebody gave me an education. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Michelle wasn't. But somebody gave us a chance," Obama said in a speech at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio. "Right now we have two competing visions of our future, and the choice could not be clearer," said the president. "Should we settle for an economy where a few people do really well and then a growing number are struggling to get by?"
ITA with Obama on this statement.
