My two best friends laugh because sometimes I'll come back with stuff for their families instead of my own! But honestly, when I spy a killer pair of shoes that are still in the box and I know my friend's daughter would love them, I can't pass them up. It's an inexpensive way to do something unexpected and nice for people without breaking the bank.
